Fallopian tubes
A pair of highly specialized canals extending from the uterus to its corresponding ovary that transport the egg and sperm, provide a suitable environment for fertilisation and nourish the egg or zygote until it reaches the uterine cavity. The word Fallopian is an eponym after the Italian anatomist Gabriele Fallopius (1523-1562).
