preimplantation genetic diagnosis
The diagnostic technique used for evaluating the DNA of embryos before implantation to prevent serious genetic disorders in the future baby. It is also known as PGS. In current clinical terminology, this term has largely been replaced by preimplantation genetic testing for monogenic disorders (PGT-M).
