antiphospholipid syndrome
A systemic autoimmune disease characterized by persistent antiphospholipid antibodies, associated with arterial or venous thrombosis and recurrent obstetric complications, including pregnancy loss, preeclampsia, placental insufficiency, or preterm delivery. It is also known as APS, antiphospholipid-antibody syndrome and Hughes Syndrome. Colloquially, it is sometimes referred to as sticky blood syndrome.
