Relating or referring to the evaluation of the morphological and structural characteristics of an embryo within the context of assisted reproduction. Aspects such as the number and uniformity of cells, the state of the cytoplasm and the structure of the embryo in its development are analyzed. This helps to select embryos with better viability to increase the success of fertility treatments. It is also known as embryonic quality; embryo morphological quality.
