Surgical procedure to visualise the foetus, the umbilical cord or the placenta. It is performed through a small incision in the mother's abdomen to insert an endoscope. This procedure can be used for biopsies, occluding blood vessels or prenatal diagnosis of foetal abnormalities. It is usually performed around 16 weeks gestation.
