DNA
Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is a molecule that contains the genetic information necessary for the development and functioning of all living organisms. It forms the molecular basis of heredity and can be found in a circular form in the mitochondria, either as a single strand or, more frequently, as a double helix in the chromosomes of the cell nucleus.
