oocyte preservation
A procedure that consists of preserving oocytes using freezing techniques in order to maintain a woman’s reproductive capacity. It is also known as oocyte cryopreservation and, in less technical usage, egg freezing. This procedure is especially indicated for cancer patients and for women who wish to delay childbearing.
