bicornuate uterus
A uterus that is irregularly shaped. A bicornuate uterus is described as a heart-shaped uterus that appears to have two sides instead of one hollow cavity. It can cause complications during pregnancy. It can only be treated by surgery.

Arcuate uterus classification has undergone modifications, such as being considered a variant of the bicornuate uterus in the Buttram and Gibbons classification or being in a category by itself in the AFS classification with the provision that it might be a normal variant.
